Kids take over Toreon
Since September 2018 the monthly CoderDojo sessions for the Antwerp Centre department are held in our office at the Grotehondstraat in Antwerp. Girls and boys from 7 to 18 years old who want to (learn to) program themselves and dream of unleashing their creativity on a video game, website or robot can participate in a free workshop.
Free programming workshops
CoderDojo encourages children to experiment with technology and programming. The youngest of them learn how to program games with Scratch. As their interest grows, they switch to mBot, control robots or micro: bits, they program a cool micro: bit in a musical instrument or alarm clock, for example. Other children who want to experiment more with electronics do so via Arduino UNO boards with which they control LEDs, displays, motors and other electronic components.
